essiebuttonI have seen EssieButton's face in my "What To Watch" corner of Youtube for ages, and for whatever reason I never clicked on her face until this fall. Just goes to show how big of an idiot I am. She is completely genuine and real, she doesn't try to be anyone she's not, and her content is unbelievably fresh and...GOOD. Maybe it's because she's Canadian and a northern girl, but she's very relaxed and easy to connect to. She is unique not only as a person, but her recommendations are unique to her as well - you aren't going to see what she shares in everyone else's videos. I guess there's a reason Youtube was trying to convince me to watch her all these years!! If you have no other reason to watch her, check her out for the gorgeous Scandinavian furniture in her video backgrounds. I want all of it. abb3rz07It's hard to know if calling abb3rz07 (it's with a three!!) a beauty guru is an accurate or appropriate statement. First, she talks about beauty and non-beauty related topics equally (...I'm fairly certain that she does more music reviews than makeup reviews). Second, her matter-of-fact, candid manner of speaking is directly opposed to what the average person considers a beauty guru...she even goes so far to make fun of the way most beauty gurus act. It would seem, however, that those very things that set her apart from most makeup girls is what makes her more enjoyable to watch than your average perky girly-girl. Her fresh, edgy style and even edgier manner should instantly add her to your subscription box. Tati (GlamLifeGuru) I'm not sure how I went so long without watching Tati, but I am thrilled to have discovered her videos this past summer. Her product knowledge is invaluable, she is conscious of featuring both high-end and drugstore products, and her professionalism in her video making is something to admire. All of this is made even better by her output of a video every single weekday; creating high-quality content with high frequency isn't something that is seen very often, and it's remarkable how she keeps her videos fresh each day. Her maturity isn't something that is often seen in the "beauty guru" genre, and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching her this season!

wisperingsandstarsRobyn Schneider and I could perhaps be the same person - she is a Young Adult Fiction author who is also into beauty and fashion! With her "outer beauty for inner nerds" mantra, she is the poster child for the quirkier nerdy girl who wants to look and feel fabulous. This winter she introduced a series entitled "A Very Beauty Guru Hanukkah" in which she made a video every day during the Hanukkah festivities. It was great seeing a youtuber pay homage to an under-represented culture and holiday. Her recommendations include a well-balanced mix of clothing, fashion, books, food, websites, and more - you never know what she's going to be into next, and the variety keeps you watching and longing for more! FleurDeForceFleur is a staple in the Beauty Guru world, and one of my favorite times to watch her is over the winter season. She is the go-to girl for holiday gift guides, winter makeup tutorials, and cold-weather fashion suggestions. Her presentation is very clean and organized, made even sweeter by her adorable posh accent. In addition, she frequently has giveaway contests for extremely high-end products such as Prada handbags - entering is worth it! Overall, Fleur is a stunning traditional beauty vlogger who should be in everyone's to-watch-immediately list. Emma PicklesFormerly called EuphoricCreation, Emma Pickles is a self taught hair and makeup artist and is the go-to girl on youtube for costume makeup. With Halloween fast approaching, her tutorials have been a pleasure to watch. From her gothic vampire and werewolf looks to quirky pop art and 60s mod designs, her skill and artistry is truly a marvel, and her UK accent is cute to boot. If you're at all interested in makeup as an art form, Emma is the girl for you! missglamorazziIngrid of missglamorazzi has been one of youtube's most popular beauty gurus for years and she truly is at her best during the fall. She is a shining beacon for girl-next-door style, and her commitment to excellence on her channel keep her international fan base coming back. While the products she prefers tend to be more high-end, her tips and style sense can be applied to a lower budget with ease. Regardless, her smile and attitude are priceless! BrideDeForceFleur of FleurDeForce has been a popular UK beauty guru for some time, and upon her recent engagement she and her sister, Hannah, created a spin-off bridal channel. With Fleur as the blushing bride and Hannah as her bubbly events planner, the two are a perfect team to bring all things wedding to the internet world. From engagement party outfits to invitation ideas to dress shopping experiences, BrideDeForce is an amazing bridal resource, and as the Maid of Honor in my best friend's upcoming wedding, I've needed all the advice I can get! Even if weddings don't hit as close to home for you, seeing what other people do for their big days is always fun, and Fleur's presentation makes it even better. ColorMeKassieKassie King is a lovely, full-figured girl who has been making youtube videos for years but only recently decided to jump on the beauty channel bandwagon. Her witty attitude and casual approach have kept me watching this summer, and I can't wait for more videos to come. Encompassing a variety of topics from weight loss and healthy living to everyday makeup tutorials, ColorMeKassie is sure to have something for you! RachhLovesRachel is a gorgeous newlywed who never fails to make you feel happy and beautiful. From her trademark "Hey Hey Pretty Girls!" opener to her bubbly, cheerful presence, her entire channel exudes a joy that keeps you coming back. She offers simple, easy-to-follow tutorials, fresh and unique style inspiration, and well-presented tips and advice. I found myself watching her more this summer as she chronicled her wedding and included the internet in her wedding preparation and experience. Check her out! kayleysclosetKaley Hyde is another seasoned youtuber who recently decided to include a beauty channel into her repertoire. Her style is edgy, slouchy, vintage, and a little bit hipster, which sets her apart from the typical preppy Beauty Guru. Amongst her summer videos the Travel Lookbooks have emerged; Kaley is fortunate enough to do a lot of traveling, and she has taken to documenting what she wears each day during her trips. If you're looking for cool outfit combinations and an international style sense, kayleyscloset is sure to hit the spot. |
